Reactive Dog Program

**The cost of this program is $250, comprising 2 private lessons and 3 classes

If you're struggling with your dog's reactive behavior around other dogs then this class is for you.

Dealing with a reactive dog can be frustrating, confusing and even intimidating. You feel judged by others, don't understand why it's happening and suspect that you or others could be in danger. Some owners are desperate to improve their situation.

This program is designed to help your dog cope with the stress of being around other dogs by learning to treat and manage his or her emotional responses on leash. It's also meant to boost your confidence when handling your reactive dog in public spaces.

What the private lessons/classes cover:

~Understand why your dog responds the way he or she does.

~Teach your dog calmness, relaxation and focus on you.

~Learn valuable and practical techniques to help you better manage your dog's behavior.

~Raise your level of awareness to better predict your dog's responses to the environment.

~Develop improved handling skills and leash walking skills.

Please see The Hyper Pup website for more details.

Lessons are private and scheduled. Contact Armando directly prior to registering: armando6869@yahoo.com or (518) 944-0678.

Follow the Leader is a follow-up handling class which can be taken after any of our private lessons training programs. Practice makes perfect so this class is designed to allow clients to hone their on-leash skills in a structured environment while also working through real world issues, such as handling your dog around other dogs, people, bikes, cars, squirrels, etc.

If you have participated in any private training with us you are eligible to join us every Saturday at 10:30 am for our Follow the Leader handling class.

No appointment needed. The cost is $5 for a class!

Please be sure to bring your dog 5 to 10 minutes early and on the training tool appropriate for your dogs training.

Vaccination & Wellness Policy

For on-premise training, all dogs must be up-to-date on age-appropriate rabies, distemper and bordatella, as well as having proof of a negative ELISA or SNAP antigen fecal test within the six months prior to their first session--we do NOT accept fecal float tests due to their poor detection rate. All dogs must also be on a flea-tick preventive.

DO NOT bring your pet for training if he is exhibiting signs of illness, such as diarrhea, vomiting and coughing--we do not want to risk the health of the other dogs or that of the unwell dog (training can be stressful and further compromise a sick dog's condition.)

Deposit & Cancellations

A 50% deposit and valid required vaccinations are required to hold your dog's spot and remaining balance is due at the first training session/class. Excluding extraordinary circumstances, we require notice of cancellation at least 48 hours prior in order to refund any deposits.

Deposit Refund Policy - 100% refund if reservation is cancelled up to 7 days prior to reservation start date; 50% refund if reservation cancelled from 7 days to 2 days prior to reservation start date; no refund given for reservations cancelled less than 48 hours before reservation start date.
